Landon Ellis has offer pulled

Fresno (Calif.) Edison linebacker Landon Ellis committed to Washington State back in November but the Cougars have since pulled his scholarship. According to Ellis' father, the scholarship has been offered to another player.

"I'm not real happy about it," Landon's father Gary said. "The thing with Landon is he still needs to pass the SAT and he's just a few points short. Washington State always told us they would stay with him and as we get closer to Signing Day, if he still had not passed, they would give him a grey shirt option meaning they would honor the scholarship and he would come next spring instead of the fall.

"I just talked to them two weeks ago and they reiterated that. Then we got a call last night and they said they gave his scholarship to another player and suggested Landon go to a Junior College. So now were scrambling a little and I'm trying to call some of the schools who were showing interest in Landon early on. Of course it's a week before Signing Day so I'm not sure what kind of luck we're going to have. Hopefully someone will still have a ride available for him."
