NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Five

EVEN WHEN WAZZU great Jason Hanson misses a field goal—as he did with a 49 yard attempt on Sunday—it's noteworthy. In fact, with Jerome Harrison back on the Browns' bench and Jason Hill's baffling relegation to San Fran's special teams, that's about as noteworthy as it got for pro Cougs this past weekend.

Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week five :

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 2nd season: Tallied one solo tackle in Vikings' 38-10 defeat of St. Louis.

Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Jacksonville, 3rd season: No recorded points for the Jags, no record stats for Tyron in Jags' nosedive loss at Seattle.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 6th season: The pride of Lewis & Clark High posted five tackles (2 solo, 3 assists) in the Birds' 45-10 drubbing of San Fran.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 6th season: Did not play; out for the season with a knee injury.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 3nd season: Recorded one special teams tackle in Vikings' defeat of the Rams.

Devin Frischknecht, TE, Green Bay, rookie : Did not play; on injured reserve (knee).

Brandon Gibson, WR, Philadelphia, rookie: Did not play; declared inactive for week five.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 18th season: The Spokane native was true on two field goals, both from 46 yards out, but missed from 49 yard—ending his streak of 20 consecutive field goals. Aim was true on both extra-point attempts in Lions' fall to Pittsburgh.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 4th season: With the return of Jamal Lewis, the Ghost returned to his role as underutilized back-up. He gained 21 yards on 8 carries in Browns' 6-3 win against Buffalo.

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 3rd season: No stats in 49ers' fall to Atlanta. Displayed his usual special teams chops by downing a punt on the four yard line.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 10th season: True on his lone kick—a 36 yard field goal—in Bills' fall to Cleveland.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 10th season: Did not play; out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Karl Paymah, CB, Minnesota, 5th season: Tallied two special teams tackles and forced a fumble in Vikings' defeat of St. Louis.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 1st year: Declared inactive for the Monday night match-up against Miami.
