NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Seven

THE BIGGEST PERFORMANCE of the weekend for pro Cougars came from up north, as recently acquired British Columbia receiver Michael Bumpus shown bright in the Lions overtime loss to CFL rival Saskatchewan on Saturday.

The former Wazzu great and Seattle Seahawk returned 8 punts for 96 yards, with a long of 40, and caught 3 passes for 27 yards, including a 29 yard touchdown grab.

Here's how the NFL Cougars performed in week seven :

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 2nd season: Tallied two special teams tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in loss to Pittsburgh.

Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Jacksonville, 3rd season: No stats; bye week.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 6th season: The Spokane native notched 13 tackles (9 solo) in the Falcons fall to Dallas.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 6th season: Did not play; out for the season with a knee injury.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 3nd season: Recorded two special teams stops (1 solo, 1 assist) despite a lingering ankle injury in Vikings loss to Pittsburgh.

Devin Frischknecht, TE, Green Bay, rookie : Did not play; on injured reserve (knee).

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, rookie: Traded from the Eagles to the Rams last week; with two practices under his belt with his new club, he was declared inactive for week seven.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 18th season: No stats; bye week.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 4th season: Led Browns receivers with four catches for 23 yards; also ran the ball 3 times for 7 yards in 31-3 loss to Green Bay.

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 3rd season: Declared inactive for week seven; 49ers head coach Mike "Blowfish" Singletary declared inept every week.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 10th season: Tallied eight points in the Bills win against Carolina. Perfect on two field goal attempts (long of 29) and both PATs.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 10th season: Did not play; out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Karl Paymah, CB, Minnesota, 5th season: Notched two solo stops and one assist, as well as a special teams assist in the Vikings fall to the Steelers.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 1st year: No stats from the Jets' shellacking of Oakland.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 7th season: Did not play; bye week. The Tacoma native—sidelined thus far in the 2009 campaign with a back injury—is slated to see his first action of the season next weekend.
