Decision Day for 4-star is long ways off

ERICK DARGAN IS not going to put up huge statistics during his senior campaign. He aggravated a knee injury Oct 1 and according to the local newspapers could miss the rest of the regular season. But that hasn't diminished recruiting interest in the 4-star prospect.

Erick Dargan (6-0, 190) is both a man of few words and a guy who sees a verbal commitment as coming way, way down the road.

"I want to take my time with everything, make sure I take all my visits," said Dargan.

Dargan has tripped to Washington State and ASU. Oregon is in line for a visit but his remaining two visits, said Dargan, are up in the air. At least one visit appears likely to come after the season.

"It was pretty good, I enjoyed myself. I liked the city," said Dargan of his visit to Arizona State.

Dargan visited Pullman on the first official visit weekend of the season, back on Sep. 5. Seven of the eight prospects on that trip have verballed to the Cougs, including two of Dargan's Pittsburg High teammates, Tracy Clark and Robert Jiles.

"They're a school that's up and coming," said Dargan of WSU.

Jody Sears is running the recruiting point for the Cougs and Dargan said he talks with him and the Cougar staff often. No school, however, has of yet emerged on his leaderboard, Dargan said.

"Not at this moment," said Dargan.

Dargan's offers include Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, Utah, Oregon, San Jose State, Washington and Colorado.
