NEWSLINE: Bill Moos at home hosting Madness

BILL MOOS WAS right at home in Spokane for the NCAA Tournament subregional games played there over the last few days. Washington State, where Moos officially will take the athletic department helm in five weeks, was the host of the games. And Moos was there meeting with Cougar fans, community leaders, potential donors, and NCAA officials he worked with to bring the tourney to Portland a year ago.

In fact, there was irony in Moos "walking into" the WSU-hosted subregional set up by his predecessor, Jim Sterk, while a year ago he was on the outside looking in at the Portland games he had secured before leaving Oregon.

That irony was not lost on Mike Tokito of The Oregonian in Portland, who blogged about it Sunday evening.
