Newsline: Klay Thompson knows what he must do

STOIC KLAY THOMPSON has turned loquacious. Well, not by traditional standards, but for the normally tight-lipped Cougar sharpshooter his interview with ESPN.com the other day was downright chatty. Of course, it helped that Ken Bone and his dad, Mychal, who is in fact about as glib a guy as you'll find, offered their perspectives as well.

The result was a most interesting feature story on Thompson by ESPN.com's Diamond Leung. It was so compelling that it was the lead story on the site's college basketball page on Monday.

In it, Thompson talked about the need to put on muscle and his gut-wrenching efforts in the weight room since the Cougs' forgettable 2009-10 season ended. He also talked about his maddening shooting slump and what the future may hold relative to his pro prospects.
