Husky Commit Recaps: Week #3

Several of Washington's 18 known commitments for the 2011 recruiting class have been putting up some monster numbers. Here's a rundown of last week's games as well as a look to what they have coming up this weekend...

Pacifica (Garden Grove, Ca.) CB Joel Willis In Pacifica's 41-8 win over Whittier, Willis had a huge game, posting three catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 15 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Season totals: 35 tackles, 2 forced fumbles; 9 rec., 291 yards, 3 TD

Dorsey (Los Angeles) LB Matt Lyons – Posted 10 tackles in Dorsey's huge 44-7 win over Hamilton last week.

Season Totals: 27 tackles, 2 forced fumbles

Poly (Long Beach, Ca.) CB Kameron Jackson Poly got a 23-20 win over Narbonne last Friday and Jackson contributed with four tackles and two passes defensed.

Season totals: 13 tackles, 9 passes defensed, 1 INT

Next Game: Friday (9/24) vs. Mission Viejo

Gahr (Cerritos, Ca.) WR Josh Perkins Gahr beat rival Cerritos 49-7 last week and Perkins posted six receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. Gahr is now 2-1 and faces Artesia Friday night.

Season totals: 21 rec., 320 yards, 4 TD

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) S Evan Zeger Last week in Bishop Gorman's 63-0 rout of Sierra Vista and Zeger was a contributor with one reception for 34 yards and a touchdown.

Season totals: 5 rec., 184 yards, 2 TD; 8 tackles, 1 forced fumble; 3 punt returns for 26 yards; 5 kickoff returns for 179 yards, 1 TD

Skyline (Sammamish, Wa.) DE/TE Connor Cree Skyline beat Lake Oswego (Or.) 38-14 and Cree was all over the field defensively, posting seven tackles and his first sack of the season.

Season totals: 22 tackles, 1 sack, 3 QB pressures, 1 tackle-for-loss

Next Game: Friday (9/24) vs. Issaquah

Skyline (Sammamish, Wa.) WR Kasen Williams Kasen had a truly all-around game, catching 7 passes for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns, throwing one touchdown for five yards and racking up 10 tackles on defense as Skyline defeated Lake Oswego 38-14.

Season totals: 22 receptions, 317 yards, 3 TD; 20 tackles, 1 INT

Next Game: Friday (9/24) vs. Issaquah

Archbishop Murphy (Everett, Wa.) DE Taniela Tupou The Wildcats got a huge 50-0 win over Cedarcrest last week and Tupou was a standout defensively, seven tackles, two tackles-for-loss and one sack.

Season Totals: 16 tackles, 4 tackles-for-loss, 4 sacks

Next Game: Friday (9/24) at South Whidbey

Walnut (Ca.) DE/TE Aubrey Coleman Coleman up solid numbers in Walnut's 38-13 loss to Claremont, hauling in seven grabs for 91 yards while rushing for 41 yards on seven carries. Did not post a tackle while seeing spot duty on defense.

Season Totals: 2 tackles; 8 catches, 98 yards; 14 carries, 88 yards

Next Game: Friday (9/24) vs. Covina

Norwalk (Ca.) RB/DE Elijhaa Penny Penny filled up the stat sheet in Norwalk's 24-21 victory over St. Paul. The future Husky carried the ball 35 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns, threw a touchdown pass and posted six tackles and a sack.

Season Totals: 381 yards rushing, 3 TD; 10 tackles, 1 sack

Next Game: Friday (9/24) vs. Morningside

Oak Grove (San Jose, Ca.) LB Scott Lawyer The Eagles are 2-1 after a thrilling 41-40 win over Willow Glen last Friday. Lawyer was all over the place, posting seven tackles, four QB hurries and one sack on defense while hauling in two receptions for 40 yards on offense.

Season Totals: 22 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 6 QB hurries; 4 rec., 40 yards

Next Game: Friday (10/1) vs. Piedmont Hills

Gig Harbor (Wa.) TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins Seferian-Jenkins had a big night for the Tides, posting three receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown from his tight end position and three sacks from his defensive end position.

Season Totals: 14 rec., 212 yards, 2 TD. On defense has 10 tackles, two passes defensed, one that resulted in an interception, and three sacks.

Next Game: Thursday (9/23) vs. Stadium

Juanita (Kirkland, Wa.) DE/TE Jarett Finau In Juanita's business-like 28-13 win over Mercer Island, Finau was solid on both sides of the ball, posting three receptions for 40 yards and a 12-yard touchdown from his tight end position as well as 3.5 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Season Totals: 9 tackles, 1.5 sacks; 3 rec., 40 yards, 1 TD

Next Game: Thursday (9/24) at Sammamish

Jordan (Long Beach, Ca.) OL Siosifa Tufunga The Panthers were downed 20-14 by Warren last Friday, but Tufunga helped lead the way for Jordan's rushing attack which managed to post 150 yards on the ground.

Next Game: Friday (9/24) at Dominguez

Stanwood (Wa.) OL Dexter Charles Stanwood fell to 0-3 with their 39-17 loss to Mariner. No stats were available for this game.

Next Game: Friday (9/24) vs. Monroe

Paramount (Ca.) OL Maataua Brown The Pirates snuck by Bellflower 14-13 last week and Brown was all over the field, posting solid numbers on defense as well as paving the way for the running game. Brown had four tackles and a sack from his defensive end position. Offensively, the Pirates struggled until late to put up any positive yardage.

Next Game: Friday (9/24) at Wilson

Graham-Kapowsin (Graham, Wa.) WR Jamaal Jones Injured (shoulder) and will not play in the regular season, but may have a chance to return if the Eagles make the playoffs.

East Central (Fresno, Ca.) RB Brendon Bigelow Will miss the season after re-injuring his knee. Top Stories
