"They (Washington) offered me last week, and looking at their linebackers, it looks like a good situation where I could come in and get an early opportunity to play," Willingham said Sunday just shortly after arriving back in Denver from his official visit to Seattle and UW.
Willingham said that he enjoyed the city of Seattle. "I'd never been there before," he said. "I liked the city. It's kind of like New York on the east coast. I like how the city life mixes in with the college life."
The highlight of his visit, according to Willingham, was checking out Washington's large campus. "It's a beautiful place," he said. Helping him see the sights was another Mullen player, former Mustang and current UW Husky Devin Aguilar, who was Willingham's host. "He said that he likes it there," Willingham said of Aguilar's message about UW. "It's a nice environment, and the people are nice - and the coaches, they are really honest. What you see is what you get."
Willingham did not make a verbal commitment to Washington on his visit, and is not sure when he will announce his final choice. He has already visited Arizona State, and he plans at least one more visit - to Oregon - before making his commitment known.
