Sample says he's a Dawg

It's been a successful start to the new year for Washington as they reeled in the one more of the top prospects on their recruiting board as Grant (Sacramento, Ca.) S James Sample picked their hat on national television at the US Army All-American Game in San Antonio on Saturday...

"U-Dub, baby," was all Sample had to say as he picked up a purple and black Washington hat, signifying his verbal commitment to the Huskies, their 21st so far for the class of 2011.

Sample chose Washington over offers from schools like California, Oregon, Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State and Washington State among others.

During his junior season in 2009, Sample totaled 111 tackles, two forced fumbles, an interception, a touchdown and a fumble recovery on a team that went 12-1 and this season he helped lead his team to a 13-1 record notching 109 tackles, one sack, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble from his safety spot.

Sample becomes the 21st known commitment to the Huskies for the 2011 class and joins Auburn (Wa.) DT Danny Shelton as the second player to pledge to the Dawgs since the start of 2011.
