Nembot switches to UW

The Husky coaching staff got some good news Wednesday afternoon when Montclair (Van Nuys, Ca.) DL Stephan Nembot told Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian he had decided to switch his commitment from Washington State and become a Dawg...

"Coach (Jimmie) Dougherty and coach Sark were here yesterday for an in-home visit with me," Nembot told Thursday evening. "I wanted to let them know I wanted to be a Husky and I committed to them.

"I called the Washington State coaches earlier this week and told them I was going to change and then when Washington was here, I let them know.

"The staff is great. Coach Sark is a great coach. Coach (Nick) Holt is a great coach. Coach (Johnny) Nansen has done a lot of good things. It was the right place for me."

Nembot visited both Washington and Washington State and had offers from schools like USC, UCLA, Stanford and Oregon State.

"Washington was a great visit for me," Nembot said. "I liked the school and the direction of their program. Coach Sark and coach Nansen will do everything they can to help me become a better player. I know I will do well there."

Nembot is being pursued to play along the defensive line and told that he currently tips the scales at 278 pounds and has grown to 6'8".

Nembot said he plans to sign his letter-of-intent with Washington on February 2nd at his school and hopes to send pictures to as soon as he makes things official.
