USC Nike camp profile - Chris Green

Chris Green is a 5-11, 175-pound running back/defensive back from Gardena (Calif.) Serra, and Chris comes from a real SoCal football factory. Devin Stearns and Chris Hemphill came from Serra last year, and Green is trying to do exactly what they were able to accomplish - earn a scholarship. Part of earning that ride is creating hype for yourself, and Green made a little of his own Sunday at the SoCal Nike camp.

"It was alright," Chris told TheInsiders about his Nike camp experience. "Getting to know all the other football players was a lot of fun, but I hurt my ankle not too long ago. I did the best I could."

Even on a bum wheel, Green clocked a solid 4.5 40 and 4.2 shuttle. "I was pretty happy with those times," he said. "I did better than I thought I was going to do.". Chris also benched 5 reps @ 185 pounds and jumped 28 inches in the vertical jump.

What was the one thing Green improved the most on during the day of teaching? "Pass blocking," he said, without hesitation.

With those numbers, you would expect a bunch of schools to come calling early, but only two have stood out so far.

"Washington and Oregon have been the only ones," Green said, noting that he has not been offered a scholarship by anybody yet.

"I'm wide open."
