Feeney to UW

Dawgman.com has been able to confirm with Pinole Valley (Ca.) S Travis Feeney, who up until recently had been committed to Arizona, that he made a commitment to Washington Thursday evening, becoming the 24th player to add his name to the Husky 2011 recruiting class.

Feeney had committed to Arizona back in the summer, but took a visit to Washington last week and hosted the Husky coaches on Tuesday.

"Washington was just amazing," Feeney told Dawgman.com shortly after committing to head coach Steve Sarkisian. "The coaches, the players, the school, the area, it was amazing and I wanted to be part of it.

"Coach (Nick) Holt and coach (Jeff) Mills were both here and I told them I wanted to be a Dawg and they were excited and then I got on the phone and told coach Sark and coach (Mike) Cox and they both were yelling and excited.

"They said they are going to a Rose Bowl and I said I wanted to be with them when they went."

This past season, Feeney was a monster for the Spartans posting over 100 tackles, two interceptions and five forced fumbles on a team that went 11-1 before losing to Rancho Cotate in the second round of the CIF playoffs this past season.

Feeney had a visit scheduled to Cal this weekend, but said he doesn't plan to take that trip anymore.
