Washington Top 10 for 2012

Washington just wrapped up the 2011 recruiting class, although there could be one more addition before Sunday, however, we here at Dawgman.com have already turned our focus to the 2012 class of prospects from the state of Washington and to say the state is heavy on beef along the offensive line would be an understatement...

Here is a list of the top 10 prospects in the state (in no particular order) and which schools are already in the picture for their services...

Lakes (Lakewood) OL Zach Banner - Will likely be one of the top 20 recruits in the entire country when it's all said and done. Possesses the right amount of athleticism and size to be an outstanding left tackle at the next level.

Schools of interest: Washington, Washington State, Stanford, USC, Alabama, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida State and Cal among others.

Puyallup OL Joshua Garnett - Could be a standout on either side of the ball, but his future lies along the offensive line. His father, Scott, played with a rare intensity and Josh has inherited that trait in spades.

Schools of interest: Washington, Washington State, Stanford, Cal, Oregon, USC and UCLA.

Mercer Island QB Jeff Lindquist - Is ready physically to play college football and has an above-average arm. Lindquist is also very tough and shows outstanding leadership qualities on the field.

Schools of interest: Washington, Washington State, Stanford, Cal, Oregon, Nebraska and UCLA.

Mariner (Everett) RB Keivarae Russell - More quick than fast, though he never gets caught from behind, Russell has used his outstanding vision and cutting ability to ring up over 3,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in two seasons as a starter.

Schools of interest: Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington, Washington State, Wyoming.

Juanita (Kirkland) OL Nathan Dean - Gritty and tough, Dean can play almost anywhere along the offensive line. Because of the presence of Garnett and Banner, Dean hasn't gotten as much attention as he probably would have in other years.

Schools of interest: Notre Dame, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State.

Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma) WR Michael Rector - Talented prospect that is raw, but possesses outstanding speed and quickness. He's very smart and will see a lot of recruiting attention in the coming months.

Schools of interest: Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, Boise State and Cal.

Lakes ATH Cedric Dozier - Plays quarterback as well as safety for the Lancers, but his home at the next level is corner. Very quick and has outstanding ball skills.

Schools of interest: Washington, Washington State, Boise State, UNLV, Nevada, Cal, USC, UCLA.

Bothell WR Trent Sewell - Very talented receiver who has outstanding speed. Needs to improve his concentration, but has the whole package otherwise.

Schools of interest: Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington, Washington State.

Issaquah TE Eric Lemke - Needs to add more size, but has soft hands and is physical at the point of attack.

Schools of interest: Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State.

Bellevue CB Tyler Hasty - Quick and physical. Needs to be more consistent, but has the size and athleticism to be a rising star in the 2012 class.

Schools of interest: Oregon State, Washington State and Washington.
