Junior to watch - Rocky Hinds

While Terrell Jackson ended up winning MVP honors at the SoCal NIKE camp, you could have also made a strong case for Rocky Hinds, the 6-4, 207-pound QB/ATH from Playa Del Rey (Calif.) St. Bernard's. Here's what he told Dawgman.com after the camp was over, including a recruiting update.

He ran a 4.47 40 ("I tore my hamstring.") and benched 185 pounds 11 times. "It's fun to play with your competition sometimes and to see what your competition is like," Hinds told TheInsiders.

Rocky also talked about the coaching he received from Bob Johnson, head coach of Mission Viejo's team and also the father of Bret and Rob, two successful quarterbacks on their own. "He was definitely coaching me, letting me know what I need to work on, so that was good."

On the recruiting front, Rocky has a leader. "I'm hearing from a lot of people," he said. "UCLA is my top choice right now. USC, Notre Dame. I'm going to visit Notre Dame for sure. Oregon too. And Washington. The whole Pac-10, really.

"Hopefully I'll be at the Stanford NIKE camp too. And I'll be going to the UCLA, USC and Cal camps. Hopefully the Oregon camp too."

The Bruins and Trojans have already offered Hinds scholarships.
