Lindquist enjoys visit to Montlake

One of the top signal-callers in the state was up at Montlake this past Sunday for a visit and spent a lot of time talking to some of the Washington football coaches while he was there. spoke to Mercer Island QB Jeff Lindquist Wednesday evening and he updated us on how things went...

Lindquist and his teammates lost on Saturday in Spokane, so his basketball season is over and he and his family made the trek west to make to Hec Edmunson Pavilion to watch the Husky basketball team take on Washington State.

"It was a good visit," Lindquist said. "I had a really good time there visiting with the coaches and talking to some of the other players.

"I sat next to Zach Banner for the game and it was fun just talking to him and getting to know him better.

"I also talked a lot with Michael Rector. I already know him pretty well. He's on my 7-on-7 team, but it was cool just hanging out with him too and I spent some time with Keivarae (Russell)."

Besides spending time with the other recruits, Lindquist also got a chance to watch some film with Husky offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier.

"We met in the team room and then we went with the different position groups," Lindquist said. "I got to watch film with coach Nussmeier and we had a good time just breaking stuff down and going over things."

With basketball season over, Lindquist can now turn his focus to his studies as well as recruiting and said he plans to take a trip to Stanford, one of his many suitors, in the next few weeks.

"I'm trying to get down there to visit them sometime in the next month or so," Lindquist said. "Things are going really well on (the recruiting) front and I'm just going to take things slow."

Lindquist maintains that he plans to make his decision in May so he can concentrate on his senior season as well as help recruit players to the school he ends up committing to.
