When will Gift decide?

Dawgman.com spoke Monday with God's Gift Achiuwa, a 6-foot-8 forward from Erie Community College in Buffalo, NY, and Gift updated us on his trip to St. John's this past weekend, as well as where he is at in the recruiting process. He told us after his official visit to Washington that he would make his final decision after his official trip to the Johnnies. Is that still the case?

"It went good, pretty much like the other schools," Achiuwa said Monday. "The three schools I visited are great schools. I'm not going to find another school. They are the only visits that I'm going to take. I'm hopefully going to make my decision this week."

The three schools Achiuwa visited officially were Washington, St. John's and Cincinnati.

Does Gift know how he'll announce his choice? "I'm still trying to figure that out," he said. "I was talking with my coach today. Maybe I'll just make a decision, not call the media or do anything like that. Just tell my coach and other people what I decide.

"It's a tough decision. It's going to be a tough one because they are all great schools. It's going to be difficult for me to pick one of them. There's not much difference between the schools. But finally I have to eliminate some. I have to pick one."

One thing is clear; the impending decision is weighing heavily on Gift at this point. "I can't wait until all of this is behind me," he said, matter-of-factly.
