Rector is in no hurry

While Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma, Wa.) WR Michael Rectore is arguably the top wideout in the state of Washington, he still has just one offer right now. However, the athletic receiver is showing his patience by waiting on some schools who are showing him some interest and he spoke with recently about several subjects including the commitment of Jeff Lindquist to the Dawgs...

"That was a great pickup for them," Rector told recently. "Jeff and I have gotten to know each other pretty well over the past couple months and we even played together on a 7-on-7 team, so we have formed a friendship out of that.

"Right now I would say his commitment won't have an effect on me, but in the long run it could because he and I would be in the same class and playing together a lot."

Rector has kept in contact with the Husky coaches over the past few months since receiving an offer from them and said they continue to be his favorite school.

"I mean, right now they are my only offer, so I'm definitely favoring them, but I have some other schools interested in me and they are coming up right now to see me and meet with my coaches," Rector said. "I'm hearing a lot from Stanford and from a couple of other Pac 12 schools and Boise State is pretty interested as well.

"I'm not really in a hurry to make my decision. I need to be patient and see what else happens. I'm still planning to make my decision over the summer, probably sometime in August before my season starts, so there is still time for schools to recruit me and show me what they have to offer."

Rector is a standout on both sides of the ball for the Lions.

As a junior, while helping to lead his team to the 4A State Semifinals, Rector hauled in 67 receptions for nearly 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver (the position schools are recruiting him to play) while posting 50 tackles and six interceptions as a corner on defense. He also averaged 25 yards per kick return and had two that he took back for touchdowns.
