Lindquist Talks About Elite 11 Experience

Mercer Island (Wa.) QB Jeff Lindquist, who committed to Washington late last month, took part in the Stanford Elite 11 camp over the weekend. Even with some lofty praise by some of the observers on hand, the talented signal-caller admitted to Dawgman.com that he came away with a lot of things to work on as he prepares for his senior season of football...

"It was a really good time down there, but it was mostly business for me and for all of the other guys," Lindquist said. "I didn't throw the ball as well as I thought I should have, but I did pretty well and felt like I held my own.

"In one of the drills, (former pro QB) Trent Dilfer was watching me on a 'quick release' drill and he was sorta challenging me on it. He said 'you'd better get that out quicker' and then when I did it right the next time he congratulated me."

While Lindquist enjoyed the instruction and the time working on his game, he also spent some time talking to his fellow campers and they shared recruiting stories as well as some down time in the process.

"It wasn't all business," Lindquist said. "We talked about different things and I told one guy why I chose Washington, but more than anything it was about being out there competing and just getting to know some of the other players.

"I talked with Bart Houston, Connor Brewer and a couple of the other guys about a lot of things and just spent time getting to know them a little better."

He also admitted he figured out some things that he can work on as he prepares for his senior season.

"Just a lot of footwork and release drills, stuff that I can always get better at," Lindquist admitted.

Lindquist said he and his team will camp at Evergreen State College in Olympia this summer and he wants to take part in the Washington NIKE camp which takes place on Sunday June 19th and may take part in some other camps, but wasn't sure which ones at this time.

We'll continue to keep track of Lindquist over the coming weeks and months and will update news as it happens.
