Rowe still keeping his options open

Early on, it appeared that there might be a rush to see who could get in with Long Beach (Ca.) Poly LB Matt Rowe. However, as spring has moved along, there has been a steady stream of visitors to see the Jack Rabbit prospects and while five have already stepped forward with an offer for the talented linebacker prospect, he's being very methodical about the whole process...

"I have five offers now," Rowe told Dawgman.com. "I have offers from Arizona State, Washington, Northern Arizona, Nebraska and Nevada.

"I have spoken to a lot of coaches and talked to a lot of the recruiters that have been through to see us, but I don't know how serious any of them are."

Washington was one of the first schools to offer Rowe and he said he spoke recently with the coach recruiting him for the Huskies.

"I spoke with coach (Demetrice Martin) a couple days ago," Rowe said. "He's trying to get me up there for a visit, but I don't think I'm going to do any camps or go on any unofficial visits.

"We talked about visiting once the season starts and that's probably when I will take all my visits."

As a junior last fall, Rowe posted 72 tackles and five sacks playing opposite Husky signee Corey Waller.

"Corey and I always laughed because we wanted to 'meet at the ball'," Rowe said back in February. "I rush the quarterback well and I have good instincts, so that helps me make plays."

We'll continue to keep in touch with Rowe during the coming weeks and months and we'll update news as it happens.
