Smith takes unofficial visit to Montlake

Kentridge (Kent, Wa.) TE Caleb Smith has continued to make the rounds and on Sunday he spent the afternoon at Washington, talking with the Husky coaches while getting a tour of the school. spoke to the talented prospect to get his thoughts on the visit as well as his itinerary for the next few weeks...

"It was a good visit for me," Smith said. "It was really the first chance my parents have had to get to know the coaches and to see the school and the facilities.

"Coach (Mike) Cox took us around for a tour of the campus and that was cool to see the different areas and where things are.

"I felt like I got the superstar treatment which was sorta funny because I don't need that, but it was cool."

In a three-week span, Smith went from no offers to eight including Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon State, Purdue, UNLV, Washington, Washington State and he said he will take in camps at two other Pac 12 schools to garner some interest from those schools as well.

"I'm going to Colorado and UCLA's camps next week and then I will be at the Rising Stars camp the last weekend of June," Smith said.

"I don't want to rush into anything. I told coach Cox that this is the biggest decision I've ever had to make, so I just want to be sure before I do anything. I don't want to rush it and then have second thoughts."

We will continue to touch base with Smith in the coming weeks and we will update things as the happen.
