"Right now, Arizona State is my favorite, but Washington is my number two," McDaniel told Dawgman.com. "I have visited Arizona State though and I haven't seen Washington yet and that could all change once I see the campus and meet with the coaches and see things for myself."
Husky running backs coach Joel Thomas is McDaniel's main contact with Washington and said the two have formed a great relationship.
"He's a great coach and a really cool person to get to know," McDaniel said. "I really think the Huskies are a great program and what really makes me like them so much is how much they've shown me they want me."
According to McDaniel, Washington is one of the schools who wants him as a big-back, able to use his size, speed and physical nature to pound their opponents into submission.
"The only school that wants me at fullback is Boise State," McDaniel said. "Most other schools have said I could play linebacker or running back for them.
"Washington wants me to be a big-back for them where I can be the 'thunder' in their offense."
With double-digit offers, McDaniel has his pick of top schools to choose from, but said he's made his choice on which two schools will definitely get official visits and what three other schools are likely to get his last three.
"Washington and ASU definitely will get officials," McDaniel said. "UCLA, USC and probably Arizona will be my other visits, but those are still up in the air right now because I like some other schools as well."
So with that in mind, McDaniel gave us his thoughts on his top five right now...
Arizona State - "I like their program and I love the coaches there. It's a good program and I really liked my (unofficial) visit there."
Washington - "I really like coach (Steve) Sarkisian. He's from my hometown and I know I'd be well taken care of up there. They have the perfect combination of academics and football and you have to fall back on something if football doesn't work out and I like that. I can't wait to see the campus and all the school has to offer me."
UCLA - "It's still close to home, but far enough away for me to be independent. My family can still see me play and that's important. It also has great academics."
USC - "It's tradition is impressive and they have great academics too. I like what that program is about -- winning."
Arizona - "It's got a lot of what I'm looking for. They are changing things up there, with new coordinators and they aren't resting on things. They are an up-and-coming program that I really like a lot, plus the coaches are great."
