Could Huskies make a move on Eldrenkamp?

It's almost an embarrassment of riches in the state of Washington this year along the offensive line. While players like Josh Garnett and Zach Banner have garnered the most attention, players like Bellevue's Jake Eldrenkamp are just now starting to see recruiting hit its stride. Recently, the talented prospect took in a day of UW's practice and he spoke with Dawgman.com about the experience...

"It was really good for me to stop by and see them in action," Eldrenkamp told Dawgman.com. "It was a really fast tempo and I loved watching the coaches doing their thing out there.

"I spoke with the coaches afterward and we talked about their plans and what I have going on. It was a good visit."

Eldrenkamp, who currently measured in at 6'5", 290 pounds said that the Huskies appear to be projecting him at guard, along with the other schools that are recruiting him.

"I think most of the schools like me at guard," Eldrenkamp said. "They like my feet and my size a lot. I need to get them some film after my first couple of games and that's when I think things will start to pick up for me."

In addition to his increased interest from the Huskies, Eldrenkamp has offers from Oregon State, Utah, Princeton, Yale and Brown.

"I have some good options right now and there are a couple of other schools looking at me," Eldrenkamp said. "Stanford likes me and I've been talking to them. I visited there and really liked it, so I just need to show them how I've come along and that will be just showing them some of my film after my first couple of games."

Eldrenkamp and his teammates began preparing for the season on Wednesday and he said their goals remain the same as they've always been.

"It's hard to believe my senior season is here," Eldrenkamp said. "This is my last chance to play with these guys, so we want to win a championship and that's our main goal, like it always is here (at Bellevue).

"Personally, I just want to be the best I can be, be a leader and go out on top. We play in a great league though, so it's always tough on us."

We will have more from Eldrenkamp in the near future as he gets closer to taking some of his official visits.
