Athletics take one from the Braves

The A's played great baseball Monday night defeating the Braves 6-4 to up their record to 10 wins and only three losses. The Braves came into the contest with a 12-2 record leading the Renton Little League north division.

The Braves scored just one run in the first inning thanks in part to a great catch at first base by Chris. He caught the liner that ended the inning while stranding two base runners.

Kyle led off the bottom of the inning for the A's with a single. Sean ripped another single into the outfield driving home Kyle and evening the score.

Matt held the Braves scoreless in the second. In the A's half of the inning, Matt singled with one down. Kyle followed with his second hit of the game. Beau the stepped up and belted one to center that scored Matt.

The Braves bats came alive in the third by scoring three times on three hits. Kyle made a nice running catch of a deep fly ball hit to right that ended the inning.

The A's were held scoreless in the third, but then got things rolling in the fourth. Matt and Beau each reached base safely on fielding miscues. Adam came to the plate and cranked a frozen rope down the left field line driving in both runners that evened the score at 4-4.

Sean was next up and was hit by a pitch. Trevor then grounded out, but moved the runners up to second and third. With two down Benji strode to the plate. He proceeded to connect with a fast ball driving it up the middle bringing home Adam and Sean with the go ahead runs.

Sean pitched the final three inning for the A's and really slammed the door on the Brave hitters. He faced just eleven batters, allowed no runs on two hits and struck out six including the final three to end a very exciting A's victory. Top Stories
