Taylor gets to work for the Huskies

When it became public that Hamilton (Chandler, Az.) ATH Kendyl Taylor had pledged to Washington, many were worried about how strongly he was committed to the Dawgs. However, Dawgman.com spoke to the talented multi-dimensional prospect and he said he's "110% committed" to the Huskies and he won't be changing his mind...

"It's been a good season so far for my team," Taylor told Dawgman.com recently. "We're 3-0 and we're playing really well right now, but you have to keep getting better and working on things and that's where our focus is."

So far this season, Taylor has amassed 117 yards and 2 touchdowns rushing while hauling in 21 receptions for 272 yards and 2 touchdowns while also being a special teams dynamo averaging 32 yards per punt return and 40 yards per kick return and also handling the punting duties.

"I just do what my team needs from me to help them win," Taylor said. "We have a lot of great players on our team and we all want to win and contribute. I just play my game, do my part and if that's punting great, if that's carrying the water out and filling up water bottles I will do that too."

As far as recruiting is concerned, Taylor committed to Washington back in late June and he said he hasn't looked back.

"I'm 110% committed to Washington, no doubt," Taylor said. "I'm not going to go back on that.

"The staff there is great, I loved it when I went up there during the spring for practice and I like their offense because I feel like I could be really successful there."

Taylor said every school recruiting him has backed off since he made it known he is going to sign with the Huskies and he has also thought about when he'd like to take his official visit to Montlake.

"I've let the coaches know that I'd like to come up for their game against Oregon and I'm pretty sure that's when I'll get up there, but I haven't set it in stone yet," Taylor said. "I know that Reggie (Daniels) wants to get up there at the same time I am going to go, so that's probably when he'd go too, but we still have to firm things up."

Speaking of Reggie Daniels, Taylor's friend and teammate, the Huskies have been making a big push for his services and Taylor has been working things as well.

"Oh yeah, I definitely have been talking to him about it," Taylor said with a bit of a chuckle. "It would be great to keep playing with him and that's something we've talked about that, but I don't pressure him too much. It's his decision, not mine, so I have to give him that space, but he knows how I feel and if things work out, it would be great."

Hamilton travels to takes on an undefeated Desert Ridge team on the road tonight.
