Trip Report: Brett Bafaro

For most recruits, making the decision on which school they want to sign with is the hardest decision they've had to make in their young life and for Liberty (Hillsboro, Or.) LB Brett Bafaro that is definitely the case. After visiting Washington last weekend, the talented prospect told he is torn between two schools and may take a while before he makes his decision...

"I had a great, great time up (in Seattle)," Bafaro told Tuesday evening. "It was great to see the game and the crowd and seeing them win was just that much better.

"I really liked my trip a lot."

Bafaro had several hosts on his trip including TE Michael Hartvigson, linebackers Garret Gilliland and Cooper Pelluer as well as RB Jesse Callier.

"We all sorta hung out and I got to go eat at Dick's which was really great," Bafaro said. "It was really cool just getting to know some of the guys and seeing everything."

Aside from all of that, Bafaro didn't hesitate when asked what his favorite part of the visit was.

"I'd have to say it was brunch on Sunday morning," Bafaro said. "Just sitting down with coach (Doug Nussmeier) and coach (Mike) Cox on either side of me and then having Sark (Steve Sarkisian) drop by and getting to sit across from coach (Ivan) Lewis, I mean it was just great talking to all of them and really talking about a lot of stuff and then I got to go with coach Cox to watch some film and just see the linebacker spot (weakside) that they want me to play.

"Overall, it was a really great trip and my parents really enjoyed themselves and they both came away really liking the coaches too.

"I talked to my dad yesterday and he said he wants me to go wherever I want to go and he will support me and he's proud of me. That's really all I can ask for from him and my mom."

Bafaro said his other favorite, Oregon, remains tied with Washington at the top and he is unsure of when he will make a decision.

"I'm torn between them because there are positives about both and some negatives about both," Bafaro said. "Mostly, I have a ton of respect for both coaching staffs. Coach (Don) Pellum and coach (Nick) Alioti from Oregon and I have a great relationship and then with all of the coaches from Washington, I feel like I've gotten to know them really well, so it's a really, really tough decision for me.

"I also want to take my visit to Oregon State and I hadn't talked to Boise State in a while, but just last night coach (Bob) Gregory called and they are showing more interest too.

"I had hoped to make my decision in the summer, but that didn't happen and I know these coaches are wanting me to commit and get me in, but I just don't feel ready to decide.

"I might commit somewhere and still take a visit or two after that, so I'm not really sure right now."

We will have more in the coming weeks while Bafaro mulls over his decision.
