Husky Commit Recaps: Week #7

It's the home stretch for some of Washington's recruits as they wind down their senior seasons and prepare for the playoffs. Here is a look at how they fared last week and their entire season stats to date...

Kennedy (Burien, Wa.) S/QB Jason Thompson - Kennedy won a 41-28 shootout with Lindbergh and Thompson had a hand in almost every score, going 6 of 10 for 78 yards and two touchdowns, running 12 times for 26 yards and another score and he also hauled in a 23-yard touchdown pass as well. Defensively, Thompson had six tackles, one interception, one sack and one forced fumble from his safety spot.

Arcadia (Ca.) S Taylor Lagace Lagace had 91 yards of offense including a four-yard touchdown run and a 57-yard touchdown reception, and two tackles on defense in the Apaches' 38-7 win over Burbank.

Mullen (Denver, Co.) QB Cyler Miles - Mullen blasted Heritage 49-6 and Miles had a big night, completing 14 of 20 passes for 275 yards and five touchdowns.

Cajon (San Bernardino, Ca.) CB/RB Damontae Kazee - Kazee filled up the stat-sheet for Cajon last week in a 49-6 win over Pacific, taking back the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, rushing for 110 more yards and one score and hauling in four receptions for 65 yards and another touchdown on offense and posting two tackles and three passes defensed on defense.

Season Totals: 453 yards rushing, 5 TDs; 22 rec., 305 yards, 5 TD; 15 tackles, 13 passes defensed.

St. Louis (Honolulu, Hi.) DE Kalei Auelua - Bye.

Season Stats: 50 tackles, 18 sacks 4 forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for both for touchdowns

Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma, Wa.) WR/DB Michael Rector - In the Lions' 49-0 dismantling of Shelton, Rector hauled in five receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown.

Gahr (Cerritos, Ca.) WR Dwayne Washington Gahr lost its first game of the season, falling to Paramount 23-9, but Washington still had a good night statistically, hauling in 10 receptions for 110 yards.

Orange (Ca.) Lutheran S/DB Darien Washington - Orange Lutheran fell 21-8 to top-ranked Servite last week, but Washington had a good game statistically posting 12 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Muir (Pasadena, Ca.) RB Tairen Owens Muir blanked Hoover 42-0 and Owens had a solid night going for 95 yards on the ground with a touchdown and hauled in two more passes for 48 yards and a score.

Season Stats: 400 yards rushing, 1 TD; 13receptions for 239 yards, 3 TD; 7 punt returns for 169 yards (24 yd. average).

Hamilton (Chandler, Az.) WR/RB/DB Kendyl Taylor The Huskies beat Dobson 58-20 to get to 8-0 and Taylor was a key figure posting 45 yards on the ground with a touchdown and three receptions for 50 yards and another score.

Season Totals: 44 carries, 190 yards, 4 TD; 47 rec., 589 yards, 6 TD; 2 kickoff returns for 105 yards; 30 yd average on 2 punt returns.

Mercer Island (Wa.) QB Jeff Lindquist - Lindquist again had a big night for the Islanders, completing 15 of 21 passes for 303 yards with four touchdowns and one interception and rushed for 67 more in a 32-10 win over Liberty.

Season Totals: 104 of 192 for 1,430 yards, 15 TDs, 7 INT; 90 carries for 570 yards, 11 TDs.

Gig Harbor (Wa.) K/P Korey Durkee - Gig Harbor fell 27-3 to undefeated Olympia and Durkee had the only points on the night, a 30-yard field goal, as the Tides fell to 4-3.

Season Stats: 9 for 10 on field goal attempts, long of 52 yards; 44.8 yards per punt; 27 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, Ca.) DT Malcolm Jackson – Jackson and the rest of the Matadors routed Monte Vista by the score of 56-0. Jackson, along with the rest of the starters, didn't play a lot in the second half, but still managed to post five tackles, two tackles-for-loss and a sack.

Colony (Ontario, Ca.) CB Bryan Harper The Titans remained perfect in league play, downing Garey 49-0 and Harper saw action on both sides of the ball going 2 of 3 for 56 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 57 yards on four carries. He also had three tackles and two passes defensed on the defensive side of the ball.

Season Stats: 32 tackles, 1 INT, 16 passes defensed; 19 of 25, 220 yards, 3 TDs; 28 carries, 209 yards.

Juanita (Kirkland, Wa.) OL Nathan Dean - The Rebels tried their best, but a torrid comeback fell short as they lost to Mt. Si 28-21.
