Husky Commit Recaps: Week #9

Washington's 17 verbal commitments are wrapping up their regular seasons and most are headed to the playoffs. Here's a look at how all of them have done so far during their senior campaigns...

St. Louis (Honolulu, Hi.) DE Kalei Auelua Auelua and his team finished the season with a 31-19 loss to Punahou. The talented defensive end did manage to have a good game though, posting nine tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Season Stats: 70 tackles, 22 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries, 2 TDs

Bellarmine Prep (Tacoma, Wa.) WR/DB Michael Rector - In Prep's 27-20 win over Gig Harbor, Rector didn't do much offensively, hauling in just three receptions for 34 yards, but he did manage to post five tackles and two big interceptions on defense.

Season Stats: 34 rec., 647 yards, 8 TDs

Orange (Ca.) Lutheran S/DB Darien Washington - In Orange Lutheran's 28-0 win over traditional power Mater Dei, Washington had a big game posting 10 tackles and four passes defensed as well as a forced fumble.

Season Stats: 60 tackles; 17 passes defensed, 3 forced fumble, 3 fumble recoveries, 1 sack, 1 interception

Arcadia (Ca.) S Taylor Lagace Arcadia blew out Glendale 44-0 and Lagace did what he could to help the Apaches in the win, totaling three receptios for 49 yards on offense and posting four tackles on defense before the starters were pulled late in the third quarter.

Season Totals: 42 rec., 640 yards, 5 TDs; 35 tackles, 2 INT, 2 sack.

Muir (Pasadena, Ca.) RB Tairen Owens In the Mustangs' 28-0 win over Burroughs last week, Owens notched 70 yards rushing and a touchdown as well as three receptions for 36 more yards.

Season Stats: 594 yards rushing, 3 TDs; 18 rec. for 299 yards, 3 TDs; 17 punt returns for 300 yards (24 yd. average).

Hamilton (Chandler, Az.) WR/RB/DB Kendyl Taylor Hamilton destroyed Corona del Sol 49-0 and Taylor was a big reason the Huskies got out to such a big lead and cruised, hauling in five receptions for 100 yards and three touchdowns

Season Totals: 52 carries, 448 yards, 5 TD; 63 rec., 751 yards, 9 TDs; 4 kickoff returns for 174 yards; 30 yd average on 2 punt returns.

Juanita (Kirkland, Wa.) OL Nathan Dean - Juanita finished their season schedule with a 35-28 win over Interlake and posted over 350 yards of offense in the game.

Mercer Island (Wa.) QB Jeff Lindquist Lindquist played only one quarter, hitting on 5 of 8 attempts for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a 52-7 win over Lake Washington last week. The Islanders made the playoffs for the first time in 11 years and will take on Ferndale at home on Friday.

Season Totals: 109 of 200 for 1,552 yards, 17 TDs, 7 INTs; 90 carries for 570 yards, 11 TDs.

Gig Harbor (Wa.) K/P Korey Durkee The Tides fell to Bellarmine Prep 27-20 to finish the regular season.

Season Stats: 9 for 10 on field goal attempts, long of 52 yards; 45.0 yards per punt; 34 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Tesoro (Las Flores, Ca.) LB Blake Rodgers The Titans beat Dana Hills 35-26 and Rodgers was a monster defensively posting eight tackles and two tackles-for-loss.

Season Stats: 71 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble

Cajon (San Bernardino, Ca.) CB/RB Damontae Kazee - In a 31-13 win over Colton, Kazee was huge on both sides of the ball, totaling 150 yards of offense (72 rushing, 78 receiving) and two touchdowns while posting five tackles and four passes defensed.

Season Totals: 588 yards rushing, 7 TDs; 30 rec., 458 yards, 7 TD; 25 tackles, 21 passes defensed.

Colony (Ontario, Ca.) CB Bryan Harper Colony got a nail-biting 24-16 win over Chino last week and Harper was a big reason why the Titans moved to 8-1, posting 102 yards rushing offensively while racking up five tackles and four passes defensed from his corner position.

Season Stats: 43 tackles, 2 INTs, 20 passes defensed; 25 of 32, 311 yards, 3 TDs; 46 carries, 396 yards, 4 TDs.

Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, Ca.) DT Malcolm Jackson Jackson and the rest of the Matadors handled business by defeating Santana 37-23 last week. Jackson posted six tackles and two sacks on the night.

Gahr (Cerritos, Ca.) WR Dwayne Washington Washington did all he could, hauling in seven receptions for 148 yards, but Gahr still fell for the third-straight week, dropping a 48-17 decision to Dominguez.

Mullen (Denver, Co.) QB Cyler Miles Mullen dropped their second game of the season, falling to Columbine by a score of 24-21 as they had a last-second field goal that would have tied the game blocked. Miles had a rough day, completing 8 of 12 for 120 yards and two interceptions while rushing for 30 more yards.

Season Stats: 94 of 129, 1,302 yards, 16 TDs, 6 INTs; 168 yards rushing, 2 TDs.

Junipero Serra (San Mateo, Ca.) RB/DB Erich Wilson - Wilson had a big game in Serra's 21-14 loss to Bellarmine last week, running for 195 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and had a tackle on defense.
