Trip Report - Nigel Haikins

Diablo Valley CB Nigel Haikins took his first official trip this weekend and said he enjoyed his time in Seattle while he was visiting Washington. spoke with the corner prospect who holds two offers and he said he'll know in the next couple of days whether he has an offer from the Dawgs...

"I have offers from Nevada and Illinois right now," Haikins told "Washington said they are waiting on me just so they can find out if they can get in a JC corner in that they offered last year, but who didn't qualify and now they are waiting on him to see if he can get in.

"They told me they should know something in the next couple of days and then they will let me know whether I have an offer from them or not."

While on his trip, Haikins was hosted by sophomore S Sean Parker and he got the full tour, of both Washington's campus as well as the place where the Huskies will temporarily call home -- Century Link Field.

"I really liked that a lot," Haikins said. "Century Link is a great facility and that's where the pros play, so that was really cool.

"I really enjoyed talking with the coaches, especially coach (Nick) Holt and coach (Demetrice) Martin. They are great coaches and I feel like they can get a lot out of me."

Haikins will visit Nevada next weekend and hopes to speak to the new Illinois coaches about their offer and an official visit there in the coming days as well.
