Sehome lineman still very much open reached Sehome High School Head Football Coach Jamie Plenkovich this evening in hopes of shedding some light on their star lineman's recruitment. Matt Eichelberger, a 6-5 320-pound wrecking ball in the trenches, is clearly a top priority for the Washington Huskies. How are the local guys doing with big Matt?

"Rumors had been spreading during the day that Matt had made a commitment of a college choice," said Plenkovich this evening. "Matt told me that he hadn't made a commitment and that he was still planning on taking some trips and visiting some schools. Right now he's keeping all of those doors open."

Plenkovich went on to say that Eichelberger is "nowhere near making a decision." also contacted Matt's father this evening and he was adamant that his son had not made any college choice. "Matt would tell me if he had made a decision. To be honest, he's not really even paying attention to the recruiting process right now. His focus is on football and track and finishing up his final year of high school."

When pressed if he thought that his son would make a decision and not tell the ‘old man', Mr. Eichelberger said, "Matt wouldn't do that. If he would have committed, I'd know about it." also talked to numerous sources today that would know whether or not if Matt had committed, and all of them denied any new commitments from the two that are already accounted for.

Washington's two verbal commitments to date are OL Casey Bulyca from Woodinville and LB Walter Winter from Juanita.

The Dawgs hope to add Eichelberger to this impressive in-state class, but it looks like Husky fans will have to wait a while to find out if the big guy from Bellingham will stay local or not.
