Wilson talks offers, trips

Brandon Wilson is a 5-11, 180-pound running back prospect from Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, La., and things have started to heat up for Wilson in recruiting since the start of the new year. Wilson ran for 1,805 yards on 264 carries with 20 touchdowns and had 28 catches for 493 yards and six touchdowns for the Cavaliers, and teams are starting to really take notice.

"I got a new offer," Wilson told Scout.com Sunday. "From Eastern Michigan." EMU joins Washington, Northwestern State and Grambling State as programs to have offered Wilson.

Wilson added that he'll be traveling to Eastern Michigan this coming Friday, and then will go all the way to Seattle, Wash. the following Friday to visit Washington. "I have a visit on the 27th, but I don't know where I'm going yet," he said. "Grambling (State) wants me to visit."

Wilson and his family hosted Washington running backs coach Joel Thomas two days ago. "We talked about the school and how I fly out there and everything that's going to happen on my official visit," he said. "Well not everything, but a lot of it."

With trips to Michigan and Washington the next couple weeks, Wilson has been thinking about what it would be like to leave Louisiana for college. "I'd kind of have to adjust with the homesickness," he said. "But I would just have to get through it."

Wilson claims no favorites at this time, saying that the official visits will go a long way toward telling him if he can play and go to school at a particular place. "I'm still thinking about (a final decision)," he said.
