Son adds to Brostek Legacy at UW

Many outlets, including the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, are set to report Tuesday afternoon that Shane Brostek, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman from Hawaii Prep Academy on the Big Island of Hawaii, is set to sign with the Washington Huskies on Wednesday. Brostek is the son of former Washington center Bern Brostek, who played at UW from 1986-89.

Brostek would be the fourth scholarshipped lineman for the class of 2012, joining Nathan Dean, Cory English and Jake Eldrenkamp. Eldrenkamp's Bellevue teammate Michael Kneip is ready to join the Huskies as a preferred walk-on.

When we have more on this breaking news, we'll definitely update the story. Brostek becomes the 22nd commit for the Huskies, joining WR Jordan Payton, who committed earlier Tuesday on ESPNU. Andother WR, Jaydon Mickens, could pick UW later Tuesday night.

Here is a video of KITV's Robert Kekaula reporting on Brostek committing to Washington on Tuesday. Top Stories
