Mickens adds his name to UW commit list

Over the last 24 hours, the Washington's 2012 recruiting class has been able to reel in some impressive talent including Shaquille Thompson, Jordan Payton and Shane Brostek. The fourth player to add his name to the Husky commit list was Dorsey (Los Angeles) WR Jaydon Mickens who made the announcement in front of family and friends...

Mickens had offers from Oklahoma State, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Hawaii, SMU, UCLA, USC and Washington State and had committed to USC early in the process, but re-opened things as time went along.

Recently, Mickens had narrowed things down to Washington and Oklahoma State, but apparently the draw of staying on the west coast as well as a call to Husky head coach Steve Sarkisian on Monday night swayed him.

Mickens was a multi-purpose weapon for Dorsey this season, racking up 378 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground while hauling in 32 receptions for 558 yards and seven more scores.

He will be counted on to be a playmaker out of the slot for the Huskies when he arrives this summer and will also lend his talents to the kick and punt return teams.

Dawgman.com will do our best to reach Mickens tonight to get his thoughts on things.
