2012 signee Brandon Beaver speaks

One of the most enigmatic recruits to follow in the 2012 recruiting cycle was Dominguez (Compton, Ca.) CB Brandon Beaver. The talented DB was a heavy Washington lean for a while, but flirted with other schools up until Signing Day on February 1st. However, he decided to go with his first choice and signed with the Huskies and he recently told Dawgman.com couldn't be happier...

"The comfort level I have up there is a great," Beaver told Dawgman.com. "All of the coaches were good people. Coach Dante (Williams) was a big reason why I chose Washington and they have a lot of people from my city and area up there that I know so I love the fact that I can play with my big brothers."

Included on that list are Gregory Ducre, Marvin Hall, Matthew Lyons and Sean Parker to name a few.

"Greg was my host on my trip up there when Washington played Oregon," Beaver said. "I really enjoyed the visit. The coaches were great and the stadium and their fans were great too. I love every bit of it."

Beaver had been favoring Washington for some time, but when then-assistant coach Demetrice Martin decided to leave, he re-considered where he wanted to end up.

"Honestly, I was ready to commit to California, but they didn't let me visit," Beaver said. "Coach Martin leaving made me worried about who was going to come in there, but coach (Keith) Heyward and I talked and he's a great guy, really energetic. All of the new coaches are young and energetic and I think they will be fun to play for.

"I'm definitely excited to be a Dawg and I can't wait to get up there and get started with the team and getting to work."

Beaver managed to post 49 tackles and seven interceptions as a senior this past season.

We will have more in future from Beaver as he gets closer to enrolling this summer.
