Neuheisel continues to fight

Rick Neuheisel met with reporters today in front of his Medina home to tell them that he still very much wishes to remain the head coach of the University of Washington. Instead of his lawyers speaking, today it was the coach himself, with his wife Susan by his side, that addressed the media.

After thanking everyone for showing up, Neuheisel made the following offer:

1. Rick wants the UW to change their mind and lift his suspension and return him to full head coach status. In return he offers:

2. If a major infraction is found, Neuheisel said he would resign as head coach.

3. If Neuheisel resigns, he said that he would would pay back his $1.5 million loan to the University, not seek "one penny" in severance, and he would pay the State and the university of Washington for the legal costs of working through the NCAA process if a major infraction is found.

He and his legal counsel are still hoping to meet with Athletic Director Barbara Hedges and Interim President Lee Huntsman, but the school has yet to agree to any such meeting.

Neuheisel has until June 26th to respond officially to his "termination of contract with cause" letter from the University. Top Stories
