Nike camp report - Antonio Lindsey

Antonio Lindsey is a 6-1, 275-pound defensive tackle from Federal Way, Washington, and Lindsey has been on a whirlwind tour of sorts since school's been out. When a lot of prospects are feeling out the recruiting process and taking their time, Lindsey has more of the look of a man who knows exactly who he wants to play for and what it's going to take to get there. So who does he like?

"I just got back from Nebraska and Oregon the past couple of weeks and I'm going to the UW (Washington) camp," Lindsey told TheInsiders after he was done at the Seattle Nike camp Friday. "Those are my top three."

Over 25 schools came to Federal Way during the evaluation period, and Antonio looks to have quickly pared his list.

Lindsey ran a 5.2 40, a 4.8 shuttle, jumped 24 inches in the vertical and benched 185 pounds 20 times.

With his list trimmed to three, what was the impetus to take part in the Nike camp? "I wanted to improve my stock out here, go up against some good guys and show 'em that I'm just as good as those guys," Antonio said. "I had a good time out here and I think I was pretty dominant."

And what will he take home with him? "Some of the things they taught me on the pass rush and different ways of getting to the quarterback, I'll be working on those and getting better for this coming season," he said.

Lindsey also mentioned strong interest in Washington State, Arizona State and Michigan State. The Sun Devils appear to be recruiting Antonio pretty hard.

What about strengths and weaknesses? "I think it's my ability to get to the ball," Antonio said when asked about what makes him a top prospect. "I have a nose for the ball. I can get around the linemen and get to where I need to be at. I need to work on my conditioning, so I can go all out, balls to the wall on every play.

"I want to get to the football. I want to make big plays. I always want to be the player that makes the wild play." Top Stories
