Nike camp report - Aaron Gaines

Aaron Gaines is a 6-2, 290-pound defensive tackle from Seattle (Wash.) Garfield, and when it comes to the top DT's in the KingCo conference, Gaines has to be right up there in the top-5. But he's not satisfied with just being good. He wants to pursue his passion to play in college, so he came to Friday's Nike camp in Seattle to test himself.

"I thought it was pretty good," Gaines told TheInsiders.com of his camp experience. "I think it helped me out a lot and should help me get better for the season. I didn't think at first the competition was going to be all that much because I'm a pretty quick player for my size, but they gave me a run for my money."

Aaron ran a 5.2 40, 4.7 shuttle, benched 185 pounds 16 times and jumped 28 inches in the vertical.

Any other camps in Gaines' future? "I'm going to try and go to the Notre Dame camp for a week," he said. "I'm trying to get into as many camps as possible right now." Recruiting interest appears to be coming hardest from Washington and Oregon, but he has no offers at this point and is open to all possibilities.
