Daniels talks about visit to Seattle

One of the top receivers in the country, Freedom (Oakley, Ca.) WR Darrell Daniels, was in Seattle this weekend to take in Washington's Spring Game as well as their Junior Day events and while he said he had a great time, he still remains coy on where things stand with the Huskies. Dawgman.com spoke with him after he returned home and he updated us on what his plans are over the next few weeks...

"It was good," Daniels told Dawgman.com. "I went there, met some of the players and the other recruits and got to know them a lot. The coaches were excited, they were like that the whole day, but especially excited for the game."

Daniels got a chance to spend some time with Husky signee Shaquille Thompson whom he already knew.

"Me and Shaq got to hang out so that was fun," Daniels said. "I also already know Marcus Peters so I knew a couple guys already."

Daniels also mentioned he was impressed with the venue for the spring game and he liked the new "virtual" look of Husky Stadium which is currently under construction.

"It was great because it was where the Seahawks play," Daniels said. "Then you throw in that Washington's stadium is going to be louder, it was really impressive. I loved seeing the plans for the rebuild."

As far as making his decision, Daniels noted that he plans to take more visits this spring and summer, including visits to Oregon, the Nike Combine in Oakland and at USC for their "Rising Stars Camp" in June before he starts to narrow things down.

"I want to take my (unofficial) visits and then I'll start narrowing things down," Daniels noted. "I'm planning to take my (official) visits too before I decide and then probably after my season is my best guess for when I'll be ready to make my commitment somewhere."

We will continue to keep track of Daniels in the coming weeks and months and will update news as it breaks.
