"Coach (Jimmie) Dougherty was down here yesterday and he met with my coach," Allen said. "I didn't really get to talk to him just because they can't talk to us there, but I know he's really interested in me and I'm also really interested in Washington."
Back in February, while attending a track meet at Montlake, Allen was able to visit the campus and with the Husky football coaches and that visit has piqued his interest enough to keep the Dawgs at or near the top of his list of schools.
"I'm from that area originally, so I had been up there before, but it was mainly for games," Allen said. "I really loved the campus and I feel like since I'm sorta from there already, it won't be that hard to adapt. I have family up there and I visit there a lot, so it's pretty comfortable for me up there."
As far as visiting Washington again, Allen had hoped to make the Junior Day event as well as the spring game, but was unable to, so he plans to come back up in the summer.
"I've actually been looking at camp dates and when it would fit best into my schedule," Allen noted. "I'm definitely planning to get up there and see the school again and also meet with the coaches. If I can get up and do a workout for them at their camp, that would be even better."
As far as a list of favorites, Allen said he isn't ready to make one quite yet, but said several have started to separate themselves and Washington is included in that list.
"I'm not really ready to name a bunch of schools yet, but Washington is definitely a school that is keeping my interest more than some others," Allen admitted. "I know I want to get out and see Arkansas for sure and maybe some others as well. The schools I'm looking to visit this summer are really the ones I'm most interested in at this point, but I'm not really ready to name leaders."
Allen said he still hasn't come up with a timeline, but that he hopes to take his official visits before he makes his decision.
We will have more on Allen in the coming weeks and months and will update news as it happens with him.
