As one of the top corners in the country, Hunt fields phone calls from schools and reporters all across the country. Even though he committed to UCLA back in August, before his junior season, he said he is still keeping an eye on other schools, including Washington, and recently he mentioned why the Huskies have caught his eye.
"Really, a lot of it has to do with my relationship with coach (Keith) Heyward," Hunt told Dawgman.com. "I love his energy and some of the plans he has for me and just the way he goes about business.
"I also have done a lot of research on their program and team and I think it would be a great fit for me if I ended up there. They have a really great program and I'm definitely planning to go up there for an official visit when I can schedule them."
The truth is, Hunt has exactly what Washington, and pretty much every other school, is looking for in a corner with his aggressive style and ball-hawking abilities.
As a sophomore, Hunt posted 60 tackles and seven interceptions and this past season he notched 63 tackles and six picks.
"I saw what Washington did last year a couple of times and I know their defense struggled, but they have all new coaches up there and, like I said, I really like coach Heyward and I feel really comfortable with all of their staff up there.
"I think I could go in there and challenge for playing time, but they have some good young corners up there, so obviously it won't be handed to me.
"Of all the schools recruiting me, all of them have good players, so it will be competition wherever I end up."
Hunt also noted it will come down to his official visits as to where he ends up.
"My official visits should tell me a lot and give me enough information to make the decision I need to make," Hunt noted. "I'm definitely planning on Nebraska and Washington as two of my visits and the rest I'm not really sure of.
"I won't officially visit UCLA because it's like an hour from my house and I've been there plenty of times so I don't need to spend one of my officials on seeing them."
We will continue to keep rack of Hunt's progress and will update news as it happens with him.
