Ryan Bush commits to Washington

Ryan Bush, a 6-3.5, 285-pound offensive lineman from Puyallup (Wash.) Rogers, has verbally committed to the University of Washington Thursday. While the Huskies are still without a permanent head coach in the wake of Rick Neuheisel's termination, that fact wasn't enough to keep Bush off UW's commit list.

"I really like Coach (Dan) Cozzetto," Bush told Dawgman.com Thursday night. "He's really tough on the field, but I know he's going to make me a better player."

Keith Gilbertson and the Huskies sent Bush a scholarship offer via FedEx that Ryan received today. That was all he needed. "I've called Coach Gilbertson and left him a message that I'm going to Washington," he said.

Oregon State was Ryan's only other offer at the time of his verbal commitment, and according to Bush Oregon was strongly considering offering as well.

"I'm very comfortable with my decision," Bush said when asked about the possibility of taking other official visits. "I've been to Corvallis and Eugene and I'm confident with my deicsion."

Ryan was recently named to TheInsiders.com Northwest Hot 100, where he was ranked as the 6th best offensive lineman in the region and 23rd overall.
