Huskies right in the mix for Goodman

As one of the top safety prospects on the West Coast, Rancho Cucamonga (Ca.) S Tahaan Goodman has seen his share of recruiting attention this spring and that will likely continue during the summer and fall as well. He recently took a visit to Montlake and came away impressed with what he saw and said the Huskies are definitely one his favorites...

"Oh man, I had a great time up there," Goodman told Sunday evening. "It was a great trip. I got to see the campus for the first time and just spend a lot of time with coach (Keith) Heyward and the rest of the coaches too.

"Joe Mathis and I are good friends, so it was cool to come up and see the campus with him and the facilities. I loved the setting, where the stadium is and you can see all the construction they have going on there. It's going to be an amazing facility once it's finished."

At 6'2", 195 pounds, Goodman has the size to play safety, but the quicks and speed to play some corner as well.

"Washington likes me as a safety, but they said in their dime and nickel, they'd like me as one of the linebackers as well," Goodman said. "They want to get speed on the field at every position so playing some linebacker in certain packages would allow them to get me on the field and that's something that really interested me."

In addition to his visit to Montlake this past week, Goodman also plans to take a trip to Atlanta later this week for the 'Rivals 100' camp and then will drop by all of the Florida schools, save one, that has offered.

"I'm going to visit all of the Florida schools that have offered me except for probably Miami," Goodman said. "I'm not really sure about their offer right now, so I'm sorta just figuring out if I'm going to visit there or not.

"I'll see Florida and South Florida and Florida State too."

While Goodman continues to gather information so he can make his decision, he admitted he's not really close to making one.

"I will take all my visits," Goodman said. "I'm not saying it will be January or anything, but I want to take my visits and then I will decide. It could be during my season if I can fit all of the visits in or I could wait until after and make it in December. I don't think I will go that long after my season is over though."

As a junior this past season, Goodman notched 45 tackles while earning All-League honors.

We will have more from Goodman in the near future as he continues along in the recruiting process.
