Brown enjoys time in Seattle

As Washington continues to search for a couple cornerbacks to add to their 2013 class, one that has really burst on the scene this summer has been Dorsey's Daquawn Brown. spoke to the talented prospect recently and he updated us on things including where things stand in the recruiting process...

Brown, along with teammate Jayme Otomewo and close friend Jermaine Kelly, tripped up to Seattle this past week to take part in Washington's Rising Stars camp and said he enjoyed his time in the Emerald City.

"It's been really fun, it felt just like home actually," Brown told shortly after completing his workout on Friday. "I really like the coaches, especially coach (Keith) Heyward. They run the same type of defense we run at Dorsey and they will be running a really aggressive style which is something I love.

"(Heyward) and I talk a lot, probably two times a week and he's someone I think I would do really well under."

Brown also noted that while a couple of friends and former teammtes -- Jaydon Mickens, Matthew Lyons and Marvin Hall -- play for Washington, that won't influence his decision.

"It helps having guys that I consider family up here, but in the end, it's my decision on where I feel the most comfortable," Brown noted. "I am looking for the whole experience -- school, football, people, friends -- so the school I end up choosing will be a school that fits all of that."

In addition to his offer from the Huskies, one he had before heading to Seattle, Brown also has offers from the likes of Washington State, Cal, San Jose State, Arizona State, UCLA and Boise State.

Brown noted that he plans to take his official visits and then hopes to make a decision shortly after his season is concluded.

We will have more on Brown in the coming weeks and months and will update news as it becomes available.
