Hawkins will be in Seattle on Thursday

As one of the top cover-corners on the West Coast, Rancho Cucamonga's (Ca.) Chris Hawkins had plenty of schools after him, but he opted to choose USC early in the process, to assure himself place in their class. Even though he remains committed to the Trojans, he told Dawgman.com recently he plans to visit three other schools and one of those will be UW and he will be in Seattle this weekend...

"I am going up to Washington on Thursday," Hawkins told Dawgman.com. "I've talked to the USC coaches and they told me to take my visits and make sure I made the right choice, so I'm heading up there to watch them play Stanford on Thursday night."

In addition to his visit to Montlake, Hawkins mentioned that he plans to visit Notre Dame when they take on the Cardinal on October 13th as well as Arizona State when they play host to UCLA on October 27th.

"I have liked Washington all along, but staying home was important," Hawkins said. "I just want to get out and see the other schools so I can make sure I made the right choice. Maybe choosing a different school is the right thing. I don't know. I just know I want to take my visits and then see where I stand.

"USC will be my last visit, probably after my season is over, and then I will know for sure where I am going."

As a junior in 2011, Hawkins locked down his side of the ball, posting 56 tackles, two interceptions and double-digit passes defensed while also returning a kick for a touchdown as well as one of his interceptions.

So far this season, Hawkins hasn't been thrown at much, but he's managed to rack up nine tackles and an interception while his team has gotten off to a 4-1 start.

We will have more from Hawkins after his visit to Montlake later this week.
