Jackson to Face Former Team Wednesday

SEATTLE - It would be an understatement to say this week has been a little surreal for Brad Jackson. The first year assistant at Washington will face his former team, the Western Washington Vikings, Wednesday night in an exhibition game at Alaska Airlines Arena. The tipoff is at 7 pm and will be carried live via radio on KBAI 930 AM

"It's a great opportunity," Jackson said, putting on his old WWU hat on for a second and talking about what games with bigger teams like UW mean for programs like the Vikings, who just happen to be the reigning NCAA Division-II National Champions. "Number one, it's a lot of fun, but to play against a Pac-12 team - and (WWU) are going to go on and play against Duke - it's all positive. When you get back to playing against the competition you've played against, you have something to sell as a coach, and especially if they do well.

"I'm not sure if the score is that big of a deal; it's probably more how they handle the situation. If they handle it well and play with poise and play with confidence, you can build off of that when you start playing against Division-II competition."
