Ajamu all about the Dawgs

Last month, Washington got their tight end for the 2013 recruiting class when Shelton (Wa.) TE David Ajamu decided to switch his commitment from Oregon State to the Huskies. Recently, the talented prospect took an unofficial visit to Montlake to check out Washington's bowl practices and he talked about meeting some of the official visitors as well as what weekend he will take his official visit...

"It was a lot of fun," Ajamu told Dawgman.com. "I had a great time there spending time watching practice and then talking with the coaches and some of the visitors that were in town on their officials.

"I talked a lot with Demorea Stringfellow and I also spent some time with Na'Ty Rodgers. I couldn't believe how big Stringfellow is. He's my size, but he's at wide receiver, so he's a big athletic guy and Rodgers looks big too."

Ajamu said he spoke with the coaches while he was on campus and he has set his official visit date.

"I'm visiting on January 11th," Ajamu said. "I'm looking forward to it. I've been there a couple of times, so that won't be a surprise to me, but I'm just looking forward to spending time with the rest of the players and getting to spend a lot of time with the coaches too."

While he's an accomplished receiver - nearly 170 receptions for almost 2,500 yards and 26 touchdowns combined in 2011 and 2012 - Ajamu knows he has work to do in the weight room to get to where he wants to be.

"I'm working out a lot right now, just trying to get stronger and faster," Ajamu noted. "I am working on my blocking. That's something that I really want to get better at."

We will have more on Ajamu as he gets closer to signing his letter-of-intent.
