Trip Report - Ryan Turman

Over the weekend, the Husky coaching staff played host to two important in-state recruits. One of them, Interlake (Bellevue, Wa.) WR Ryan Turman, spoke with shortly after returning home and said he and his friend, Bellevue (Wa.) LB Myles Jack, were both blown away by the experience and that, if he wasn't committed to Washington already, he would have committed this weekend...

"It was great," Turman told "A lot of one-on-one with (the coaches). I talked to every coach. It was awesome."

Turman and Jack's hosts on the visit were Kasen Williams and Shaquille Thompson and he said they both imparted their wisdom on why it was great to be a Husky.

"They said it's great and they wouldn't change (their life at Washington) for anything," Turman said. "They welcomed us. The took care of us and told us the truth and kept everything straight-up.

"Kasen told us how it is good to stay home and play for the hometown team."

While they spent most of their time with their hosts, he said they also spent time with players like Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Jamaal Kearse, Keith Price, Bishop Sankey and freshman Trevor Walker who enrolled early.

Aside from the time spent bonding with the players, Turman said the two highlights were pretty easy to figure out.

"The stadium tour and the Columbia tower (were the highlights)," Turman said without much hesitation. People don't realize how much better this stadium is going to be. It's ridiculous.

"The Columbia tower was amazing. I had never been there before and the view was awesome."

One concern for Husky fans is how Jack enjoyed the trip and while Turman doesn't speak for Jack, he said that Washington did what they had to do.

"We were both blown away," Turman said. "Neither of us expected it.

"It was everything and th staff and how they treated us was amazing. If I wasn't committed already, I would have (committed)."

Turman also mentioned that the Huskies plan to use him in the slot.
