Huskies reel in JUCO DE

Washington got some good news on Tuesday when Diablo Valley DE Tui Talia, one of the top JUCO defensive line prospects on the west coast this year, decided to commit and become a Husky and he spoke with shortly after making his decision to talk about the reasons why he wants to become a Dawg...

"I just loved everything about the place," an excited Talia said. "It was a great experience going up there this past weekend. The players were really nice to me and welcoming and the staff was really on top of it. I loved the academics there too. My major is Business and they have a great Business school up there that is (donated to) by Bill Gates so that's pretty amazing."

In truth, Talia had thought about committing to Washington over the weekend, but he decided to hold off and think about things.

"In the end it was just right for me to commit to them because I love it there and I want to become a Dawg really soon," Talia said. "I called coach (Tosh) Lupoi and I told him I wanted to commit and he said he was super-excited to get me into the class and to be able to coach me. He's looking forward to getting me up there next year and I can hardly wait."

Talia chose Washington over offers from Baylor, Hawaii, Kansas, South Florida and Utah State and he had plenty of other schools -- Nebraska, Missouri, Oregon, Oregon State, California, Arizona State, Utah, Kansas State among others -- who were in hot pursuit as well.

As a freshman this past season, Talia posted 48 tackles, six sacks and 16 tackles-for-loss.

He will graduate in December and will have three years to play two following the 2013 football season.
