#11 UW 2, #20 Hawaii 0

SEATTLE - Kylee Lahners doubled home Jerrin Fa'asua to break a scoreless tie in the bottom of the sixth inning and 11th ranked Washington went on to beat 20th ranked Hawaii 2-0 in a winner's bracket game at the Seattle regional on Saturday afternoon.

Washington (40-15) needs to beat Hawaii (45-12) again on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Husky Softball Stadium to claim the regional and advance to the best two of three super-regional against either Missouri or Hofstra. Hawaii beat Minnesota 3-0 in an elimination game to earn another shot at the Huskies.

Kaitlin Inglesby led off the last of the sixth with a four pitch walk. Fa'asua pinch-ran and scored for 1-0 Huskies when Lahners drove a 1-2 pitch off the wall in right center field. Lahners advanced to third on a sacrifice by Kimberlee Souza and scored on a line single to left by Jennie McNeill to make it 2-0.

Inglesby (22-7) then secured the win from the pitcher's circle in the top of the seventh, retiring Hawaii in order. She got Keiki Carlos on a groundout to second, Jessica Iwata on a grounder to third, and Leisha Li'ili'i on a swinging strikeout.

Inglesby finished with a complete game shtuout, allowing only two hits and a walk while striking out nine. Parnaby (38-6) went the distance for Hawaii, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks. She struck out four.

The Huskies had a baserunner on in every inning with their best chance to score coming in the bottom of the fourth. Lahners led off with a walk and moved to second on a groundout by Souza. She then attempted to score on a ground single by Shawna Wright to right field, but Keiki Carlos fired a perfect strike to nail Lahners at the plate.
