Green eyes visit to Seattle

While Washington is in the middle of the 2014 recruiting cycle, they also have staked their claim for several top 2015 prospects and one, Junipero Serra (Gardena, Ca.) DL Rasheem Green, told Dawgman.com recently he is planning to make a trip to Seattle later this month...

"Things have been going good. I've got offers from Miami, Florida, Tennessee, Washington, UCLA, USC, Utah, Notre Dame, Florida State, Ole Miss and California and I've got a bunch of other ones that like me a lot," Green told Dawgman.com. "It's been great, but also humbling just because it's so early and you know, you go into things not even knowing if you'll be good enough and then to have all of those schools like you enough to offer before you even end your junior year, that's pretty cool."

Green also mentioned that Stanford and Michigan have both made inquiries and are schools that interest him as well.

"Honestly, it's so early, I'm interested in everyone, but those two schools are great and historic programs and I like both of them a lot," Green said.

As far as the Huskies are concerned, Green has been talking with Husky defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi and said the two have talked about him coming to Seattle for a visit.

"He and I have talked about me coming up for camp this month," Green said. "He wants me to come up and work out and then take a look at the campus and the program and the facilities. I've heard that it's a great campus and that their facilities are impressive too, so I'd like to see it and that's what I'm planning at this point, but I'm still sorta making my plans and firming things up.

"If I make it up (to Seattle), it will be later this month, probably the last week, so I still have some time to sort things out."

Green said all of the schools recruiting him like him at either end or tackle and that, while he will play anywhere the coaches want him to, he prefers to be outside.

"I've always thought of myself as a defensive end and I like that spot a lot," Green noted. "I really like rushing the quarterback and making plays."

As a sophomore this past season, Green totaled over 20 tackles and had 1.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks as well.
