"On Sunday I flew out and then on Monday I visited Washington State," Browning told Dawgman.com. "Then on Tuesday, I went up to Washington and spent time meeting with the coaches and seeing the campus and their academic stuff and all of the facilities.
"I spent some time with coach (Steve) Sarkisian going through plays up on a white board and then we sat down and he said he was really happy to see me up there and that they were offering me.
"I didn't want to take it for granted that I was going to get offered, so it was sort of a surprise to me, but I had been talking to them for a while, so I felt pretty good about it going up there."
In addition to his offer from the Huskies, Browning also has full rides from Washington State, Utah and Boise State and more will likely come in once teams get a look at him this fall.
As a sophomore last year, Browning completed 64.6% of his passes (391 of 605) for 5,248 yards with 63 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, leading his team to a 14-1 record with their only blemish a loss to eventual state champion De La Salle in the state semi-finals.
As far as when he plans to make his decision, Browning said he's already mapped out his strategy.
"With quarterbacks, teams want you to commit as early as possible, so I'm thinking next spring at some point or possibly into the summer, but no later than that," Browning said.
Browning and his teammates begin their season on August 30th with a game against Woodcreek at home.
